Founded in 1890, over 1,000,000 women have joined to honor their heritage and work in their communities, volunteering locally to promote education, historic preservation, and encourage patriotic endeavors. Community Service
Since the organization of the DAR, members have volunteered MILLIONS of hours serving within their communities. Community service is a great way to connect with your community by utilizing your talents and passions while meeting new people and doing something you love. There is something for everyone in the DAR with the numerous activities and volunteer ideas. We would love to hear about your passions and ideas to work in Detroit.
